Jailyn Mozingo

My name is Jailyn Mozingo, and I am an Elementary Education major with a passion for helping children learn and succeed. My journey into education began with a love for working with children and a desire to make a positive impact in their lives. I have always admired teachers who create welcoming classrooms where students feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to do their best. Those experiences inspired me to pursue a career where I can provide that same encouragement to future students.

Currently, I work as a Teacher Assistant for the Wayne County School District. This position has allowed me to gain firsthand experience in the classroom while working with students of different learning abilities and backgrounds. I assist teachers with classroom instruction, small-group activities, classroom management, and individualized student support. Every day brings new opportunities to learn, and I continue to grow both personally and professionally through these experiences.

Being a full-time employee while attending college full time has taught me valuable lessons about dedication, perseverance, and time management. Balancing work, school, and family responsibilities is not always easy, but each challenge has strengthened my determination to reach my goals. These experiences have also helped me develop empathy and patience—qualities that are essential for becoming an effective teacher.

Outside of school and work, my greatest joy comes from spending time with my children. They inspire me to continue my education and pursue my dreams while showing them the importance of hard work and perseverance. Whether we are enjoying time outdoors, taking family trips, or simply spending time together at home, I value every opportunity to create lasting memories with them.

As a future educator, I hope to create a classroom where every student feels respected, valued, and capable of achieving success. I believe learning should be engaging, inclusive, and enjoyable. I want my students to develop confidence in themselves while building the academic and life skills they need to succeed. My goal is not only to teach important subjects but also to encourage kindness, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
